The future of data-driven agriculture

We believe the future of agriculture is data-driven. The smart use of technology to achieve more with less. In a world where a changing climate and scarcity of natural resources are increasingly challenging, precision agriculture offers a solution to the challenges facing growers. Through real-time data from the field, crop- and soil-specific insights and predictions, we help farmers give exactly what their crops need, without waste and with minimal environmental impact. This is not only good for the planet, but also makes farmers resilient and ready for tomorrow’s challenges. We believe this approach is the key to sustainable and secure food production.

Practical and scalable solutions

For Agurotech, direct collaboration with farmers is essential to create solutions that meet their needs. We work closely with farmers, as well as scientific institutes, farmer cooperatives, researchers and crop consultants, to develop technology that is practical and responsive to the challenges of their daily work. By ensuring that our solutions fit different soil types, crops and growing conditions, we ensure that our solutions not only make an impact locally, but are also applicable worldwide. This allows us to bring farmers around the world into the data-driven digital transformation.

On the way to

We want to take the next step forward and are in the process of obtaining B Corporation certification.

2020

Founding

Agurotech B.V. was founded on November 20, 2020 in Amsterdam by Lilia Planjyan and Joelle van den Brand to transform the agricultural sector through smart farming technology.
2021

Research and development phase

Agurotech's early years focused on research and development for hardware prototypes such as soil (moisture)/sensors and weather stations. In addition, software was developed aimed at applications such as irrigation optimization, spray planning and determining disease pressure.
2022

Pilot phase

In 2022, hardware and software prototypes were tested in the Netherlands and outside the Netherlands. This phase involved working closely with farmers on different soil types and for different crops. This IP is protected through a patent. Based on the tests carried out, the connectivity, firmware control, user interface and advice were further developed and made ready for the market.
2023

Commercialization

In 2023, Agurotech commercially marketed its products with a focus on the Western European market and welcomed dozens of farms to its customer portfolio. With support from investors ROMinWest and Navus Ventures, Agurotech has been able to further invest in product development and a.
2024

Internationalization

As of 2024, Agurotech operates in 15 countries. Its product portfolio has expanded to include several models of soil (moisture) sensors, which measure at multiple depths, crop temperature sensors to determine freezing point, a modular weather station with a choice of 7 weather variables controlled by a solar panel.

Future

Coming years will be marked by further commercialization and entering new markets, establishing international partnerships and expanding the product portfolio with new features and new innovation.
