Welcome to the second newsletter from Agurotech. In this letter we will keep you informed about the latest insights, newly rolled out features, field studies and practical tips for using our technology. This newsletter is published every few weeks and contains different topics each time.
Agurotech enters new markets!
Agurotech’s sensor technology is attracting increasing attention worldwide. Currently, this technology is being introduced in California, United States, where high-value crops and fruit trees are grown, and where irrigation is crucial. Especially large farms there appreciate the wireless sensors because of their easy installation and the fact that they function without cables or additional equipment. In addition, Agurotech is further expanding its operations in South Africa and New Zealand.
Interpom trade show
Soon we will be present with a booth at the potato fair Interpom in Kortrijk, Belgium. We may still give away a few free tickets! Are you interested? Then contact us at info@agurotech.com. We look forward to meeting you at the fair.
Newly rolled out features
The estimated root length in Agurotech’s application is used to determine at what depths the sensor should measure. At the request of our customers, we have added the ability to adjust the root length in the application. This allows you to provide us directly with live feedback so that we can continuously optimize our advice. Moreover, based on your input, you can determine which depth measurements of the sensor best match the development of your crop.
Agurotech’s irrigation advice is tailored to your specific soil type and crop, with Agurotech using scientifically based bandwidths that have been validated in practice. Recently, the ability to adjust these ranges to your own preferences has been added. For example, you can choose wider bandwidths if you face limited water availability or dilute the bandwidths if you want to be advised sooner. Contact us via the Whatsapp channel for any questions or advice on this.
New products
Recently Agurotech has started offering weather stations with predicted disease pressure for onion and potato crops. In addition, we offer a digital rain gauge solution on loan for only 250 euros per year. With this innovative rain gauge, which is supported with a solar panel for perpetual battery and a GPS tracker, you get access to three weather stations from Agurotech’s network of your choice, insight into plant disease pressure for onions and potatoes and irrigation advice based on rain data and other weather data.
